Kris Monroe, Visual Artist
I’m a Southern California based photographer and videographer based out of beautiful San Clemente, CA. I’ve been shooting photography for 14 years. Around 2016 after working in the legendary film lab The Darkroom, I made the decision to pursue my passion for photography and pursue it professionally.
Since then I have shot everything under the sun, and have amassed a catalog of work in everything from food photography, to live music, to surf photography, weddings… you name it. There’s truly nothing more fun then helping others tell their story visually, and that is my mission statement.
Photography
My aesthetic I describe as filmic, with heavy emphasis on natural environments for the backgrounds and setting of my subject. Having came from a photo-lab and seeing the beauty of film photos, I also utilize both mediums and formulate my look to have the same richness as a roll of film.
The best photos are ones where the camera is just a mere observer, so I often tell my clients to pretend I’m not there. The best moments are captured when one is comfortable enough to flow naturally and be themselves fully throughout a shoot.
Videography
As a passionate videographer, I specialize in bringing a touch of nostalgia to modern storytelling. By utilizing vintage lenses, I create unique and timeless visuals that evoke a sense of classic charm. Each project is an opportunity to blend the old with the new, capturing moments with a distinctive, artistic flair that stands out in today’s digital age.

Editing
As a dedicated video editor, I specialize in bringing out the beauty in the smallest of movements. My editing style is characterized by a meticulous attention to detail and a creative use of slow motion to exaggerate and highlight the subtle, interesting moments that often go unnoticed. By slowing down time, I capture the essence of each scene, allowing viewers to fully appreciate the intricate nuances and emotions.
